Audio Technica ATH-A700 Headphones Review
This ATH-A700 review will give you a noteworthy insight behind the craze for Audio Technica’s dynamic headphones. I am aware about loads of crazy-priced and full-sized headphones in the market that just have warm sound with full bass, very few have such a clean presentation like that of the ATH-A700. Audio Technica headphones perfectly fit the bill for me. The sound quality is quite airy and detailed.

I switched from Sennheiser HD203 to the ATH-A700. I do use the Sennheiser at times, but prefer the latter for music. I am an audiophile and I love listening to pop, rock, and various other forms of music. These headphones are super light and I could not even feel the weight when I put them on. These headphones weigh lighter than iphone 4. I continuously listen to music for long 8+ hours every day and I am highly entertained by the ATH-A700 headphones.

Do not expect the ATH-A700 to be a first time charmer; you need to give it a week or so to perform to its fullest. The mid headphones will stay the same performance wise, but high end headphones like this get richer and smoother with time. These high end headphones are quite clear and the enhanced treble is totally above anything which I’ve owned previously. I could hear crisp highs that are so rich and the bass too is perfectly smooth. I am very choosey when it comes to headphones and the ATH-A700 is simply beyond what I had wanted, in a very good way.
I can enjoy movies, games and music on these headphones and I doubt if I would be looking anywhere else. I would like to list some of its pros and cons of the ATH-A700 below;
Pros
- Outstanding quality sound – very clear instrument separations and clean, strong bass.
- Very comfortable – very light pressure on the ears and headband system lacks hot spots.
- Great cord – its long cord allow for mobility and cloth covered sheath stops transmission of any sound even if bumped upon.
Cons
- The headphones are really big and the cord isn’t travel friendly, it is too short. I prefer headphones with longer cords.

The ATH-A700 costs around $123, and I know this for a fact that if we want to buy speaker systems which sound just as good, we will be spending a lot more. The fit of these headphones is amazing, and they get hot very lightly. The ear cups cover the ear and shut out all outside noises. I love it because it has a large headband and totally suits my large head. The ear cups are soft and its linen wrapped cord looks classy. For some reason the images of these headphones appear very light, but they are midnight blue in reality, and sport stylish metallic flecks too. I often listen to movies that I play on the laptop and also mp3s, the audio experience is awesome. I like the fact that the bass never gets overbearing. The higher notes are very clear minus distortion. I am still discovering interesting details about songs I have listened all my life which I did not know existed. The ATH-A700 headphones are simply wonderful to listen to and I would highly recommend it!
